One minute, AI-controlled units seem to be tactical geniuses, flanking and laying waste to the enemy with precision. And while this is all something fans should enjoy, balance issues and weird AI behaviors make the game feel like a big step back in the evolution of the series. The game still has the grandiose battles with swarms of armies charging each other on the field. If you've played any of the previous Total War games, things should feel familiar here.
